Die Mutter von Joseph, einer seiner Brüder, und ein, wenn nicht zwei, seiner Schwestern waren Mitglieder der Presbyterianischen Kirche, und auf diese Mitgliedschaft bei den Presbyterianer hing die Familie mit großer Beharrlichkeit. Und inmitten dieses religiösen Wiederauflebens unter den Menschen wurde die Einladung, „Komm und schließ dich unserer Kirche an,” häufig auch an Joseph, besonders durch die Presbyterians kam diese Einladung. Joseph neigte natürlich dazu, religiös zu sein, und jung, und umgeben mit dieser Aufregung, kein Wunder, dass er ernstlich beeindruckt die Notwendigkeit sah, dem Herrn zu dienen. Ich erinnere mich sehr gut an die Wandlung, die im Land unter den verschiedenen Bezeichnungen von Christen - den Baptisten, Methodisten, Presbyterians, und anderen stattfand - als Joseph ein Junge war. Die Mutter von Joseph, einer seiner Brüder, und ein, wenn nicht zwei, seiner Schwestern waren Mitglieder der Presbyterianischen Kirche, und auf diese Mitgliedschaft bei den Presbyterianer hing die Familie mit großer Beharrlichkeit. Und inmitten dieses religiösen Wiederauflebens unter den Menschen wurde die Einladung, „Komm und schließ dich unserer Kirche an,” häufig auch an Joseph, besonders durch die Presbyterians kam diese Einladung. Joseph neigte natürlich dazu, religiös zu sein, und jung, und umgeben mit dieser Aufregung, kein Wunder, dass er ernstlich beeindruckt die Notwendigkeit sah, dem Herrn zu dienen.
